The Local History Online website is owned and managed by The Local History Press Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales with company number 02842852. Our VAT number is GB 385 4184 28 and our registered office is at 3 Devonshire Promenade, Lenton, Nottingham NG7 2DS.

We began as a business entity (but not yet a company) in 1984 when we began publishing Local History Magazine. Our website first appeared in 1997. We gave up publishing Local History Magazine in 2002 (it's now published by Brewin Books), but single copies can be bought and subscriptions taken out via our Online Bookshop.

We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office, registration number Z7834527. We maintain a database which contains contact details for local and family history societies and course providers. All of the information in our database has been obtained either from sources which are already public, i.e. web sites, or directly from societies/course providers. If any society or course provider would like a copy of the information which we have relating to them, then please contact us and we will make it available. We do not sell or give copies of our database to any other organisation or individual.

The Local History Press Ltd has three directors: Susan Griffiths, Barbara Hornby and Robert Howard.
